This section of the site contains my explorations into the world of oil painting, starting from basically from zero. After all, how hard can it be? Beginnings After much prevaricating, I managed to get my act sufficiently together (so many distractions: make the easel, make the trundle thingy to old the pallet and paints, watch a few more videos on how to do it, etc etc) and put paint on the pallet and started to daub.

In late October 2020, the Company released a video trailer of their up-coming feature presentation, Doofus and the Duck Present Art. You can see that video here Local stream: Doofus and the Duck Present Art YouTube: Doofus and the Duck Present Art This video was inspired by the work of the group known as Auralnauts, specifically their 2017 release “How To Make A Blockbuster Movie Trailer.” As you can find from other pages on this site, I (Mark) am interested in music composition and specifically writing for film so, thinks I, what better than combining the wonderful images of Doofus and Duck Present with some kind of “epic score.

Introduction This page contains the amazing works of art my wonderful wife Emma has created during the time of quarantine: the COVID-19 pandemic of 2019/2020. She decided to recreate famous art with the stipulation that each work must contain an artist dummy (the “Doofus”), a wooden duck (“The Duck”), and the latest fiction work of Hilary Mantel (“The Book”), both these latter two she received for her birthday this year.
